JOE LEAHY
VIDEO ANALYSIS COACH
Joe Leahy is a 2nd year professional hockey player currently competing in the ECHL for the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, an affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings. In his first year, Joe led his team in plus / minus and defenseman points. Known for his leadership on and off the ice, Joe serves as an Assistant Captain for the Swamp Rabbits, helping to guide and mentor teammates while embodying the team's core values of hard work and resilience.
A native of Waterloo, Ontario, Joe's high level hockey journey began in the BCHL with the Penticton Vees, where he was an integral part of the team’s championship-winning campaign. His success in junior hockey earned him a scholarship to Cornell University, where he played NCAA Division I hockey for the Big Red. At Cornell, Joe developed into a key player with a strong two-way game, showcasing his leadership abilities and commitment to excellence.
After graduating Cornell with a degree in Agricultural Science, Joe transitioned to the University of Vermont, where he continued his education and hockey career. He earned a Master's degree in Plant and Soil Science while playing for the Catamounts, further solidifying his reputation as a dedicated and well-rounded individual both in academics and athletics.
Currently, as a key member of the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, Joe is not only focused on his own performance but also passionate about helping young players achieve their dreams. He’s deeply committed to mentoring and offering guidance to aspiring athletes who are looking to take their game to the next level.
